Alitalia narrows loss, stays mum on potential sale

Third-quarter net loss for Alitalia Linee Aeree Italiane S.p.A. shrank to 57.6 mil euro from 66.4 mil euro in 2006. Revenue dropped 2.7%, but operating losses narrowed from 42 mil euro to 19 mil euro. However, the airline has not made any announcements regarding a new owner, as the Italian government continues to try to sell its 49.9% stake.

KfW to sell stake in struggling IKB
Article Abstract:
Germany's IKB Deutsche Industriebank AG is being sold by its largest shareholder, KfW Bankengruppe, which owns a 40% stake. KfW and other financial entities contributed approximately $9 bil to prevent IKB from folding under credit crisis pressure. The sale of IKB may be difficult due to complications in calculating its valuation.
