Alitalia presses unions after pilots agree to job cuts

Alitalia has won important concessions from its unions, in its bid to regain financial health. The influential pilots' union agreed to staff cuts, pay cuts and productivity increases. which should weaken resistance from the other labor groups. Management is proposing a 24% cut in the labor force.
