ALLTEL Corp. of the United States is increasing efforts to find a buyer. The telecommunications company is valued at $22 billion on the stock market and is the fifth largest wireless operator worldwide. Acquisition speculation has caused the stock price to rise and a deal values the operator at $25 billion to $30 billion.

Telekom Austria buys phone firm serving Belarus

Telekom Austria AG has bought a 70% stake in Belarus firm Mobile Digital Communication for $1.03 bil in a deal that includes an option to purchase the remaining 30%. Telekom Austria will be taking on a portion of MDC debt but the amount was not specified.
