Analysis and algorithm for the optimal investment times of new manufacturing technologies in a duopoly
Article Abstract:
A duopoly model with different incumbents shows that given a quite reasonable circumstance, at least two asymmetric Nash equilibria for cost-reducing new manufacturing technologies (NMT) exist, indicating that a diffusion of cost-reducing NMT over time. Since Nash equilibria of strategic NMT may be symmetric of asymmetric, investments in strategic NMT for non-identical incumbents may be distributed through time or in a swarm.

Optimization of dual response systems: a comprehensive procedure for degenerate and nondegenerate problems
Article Abstract:
An elementary form of a quadratic dual response optimization procedure in response surface modeling has been developed and solves both non-degenerate and degenerate problems. Results of simulations conducted suggest that the technique is highly effective in locating optimal operating conditions in dual response systems. A number of improvements and extension relating to this method are being explored.
