Einstein: from Berne to the bomb
Article Abstract:
Albert Einstein was born in Ulm, Germany on Mar 14, 1879 but his most productive years were spent in Switzerland. At the age of 16, he applied to study at the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and graduated at the age 21 as a specialized teacher of mathematics and became a Swiss citizen a year later. In Apr 1902, he was appointed to the position of Technical Expert, Class III at the Swiss Patent Office. He later became Associate Professor of Theoretical Physics and was awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize for physics.

More than a castle in the air
Article Abstract:
Switzerland offers a unique educational experience by way of summer courses in a medieval castle setting. The privately-owned Chateau de Lucens offers courses on decorative painting, furniture restoration, creative writing, study of antiques and interiors, culinary classes and wine appreciation. The summer program, aptly named Castle Workshops, range from a day to a week. Week-long participants live within the castle for the duration of the workshop where they get the opportunity to enhance their cultural knowledge.
