Analyzing Ek/Er/c queues
Article Abstract:
Queueing systems with c parallel identical servers, Erlang-r distributed service times, Erlang-k distributed interarrival times, a common queue and a first-come first-served policy are considered. Specifically, the separation of variables method is applied to model the equilibrium distribution of the Ek/Er/c queue as a finite linear combination of products of powers. These results in exact solutions for the performance criteria such as moments of queue length and the waiting time.
