Anglo American may buy Brazil projects

UK mining form Anglo American PLC is in exclusive negotiations with the controlling shareholder of Brazil's MMX Mineracao and Metalicos S.A., Eike Batista, to purchase his 63.6% stake in a new spin-off firm. That firm will hold a 51% interest and a 70% interest in two iron-ore projects. The deal is valued at approximately $5.5 bil.
