Air Liquide, Air Products make joint bid for BOC

BOC Group PLC announced that Air Liquide SA and Air Products & Chemicals Inc. have made an unsolicited, joint-takeover bid for the British industrial gases firm. Air Liquide and Air Products are seeking to acquire BOC for 14.50 pound sterling (22.34 euros) per share. This comes out to over 7 billion pound sterling. BOC management officials are concerned about the ability of the new bid to win approval with antitrust regulators.
