Detained Indonesians riot in Malaysia: violence in four camps holding illegal immigrants send shock waves
Article Abstract:
Illegal Indonesian immigrants held in four Malaysian detention camps simultaneously held riots which killed three inmates and one policeman. Malaysia is carrying the brunt of the Asian currency crisis, with a number of legal and illegal immigrants seeking employment in the country whose economy has expanded by over 8% annually for the last decade. The simultaneity of the riots force authorities to surmise the orchestration of the riot by a group or individual.
