Setting up shop
Article Abstract:
Reuters has announced a new strategy geared to the internet. The company has been affected by the development of new sources of information which have bypassed intermediaries such as Reuters. Reuters plans to become a retailer, since wholesalers are being bypassed, and will offer several service levels at different prices. This strategy creates the problem of revenue cannibalization, and there is fierce competition in the retail market. There is also a need to develop the Reuters brand for the retail market.
