Asia's outpost of democracy
Article Abstract:
The recent presidential election in Mongolia, in which Nambaryn Enkhbayar of Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP) was elected, is described. The evolution of democratic process in the country is also described. Even though MPRP has communistic inclinations the elections were conducted fairly in democratic fashion. The geopolitical importance of Mongolia, its political and economic relationships with US, China and France and other cultural and religious aspects are also discussed.

Indonesia: upset victory
Article Abstract:
Indonesia's first presidential election is held in 2004 in which former armed-forces Chief Wiranto, a member of the Golkar group, is the fore-runner, among 4 other candidates. Analysts predict that Wiranto would face an even tougher battle in the presidential election on July 5, where he would be up against incumbent President Megawati Sukarnoputri.
