Atlantic salmon populations in danger
Article Abstract:
Atlantic salmon population in eastern Canada and the USA are anticipated of encountering the danger of becoming extinct very soon. Researchers are investigating the ocean conditions, acid rain, industrial pollutants, poaching and illegal by-catch, habitat degradation and poorly regulated salmon aquaculture practices, which are believed to be the reasons behind the expected danger.

Salmon boat owners have been hit with very low prices for their catches, causing some to stay in port. Fishing from Alaska to Oregon have been off, partly as Japanese buyers have been buying farm-raised salmon from Chile further depressing prices.
