The new office, including the architectural office, is almost certainly going to be a wireless, non-access-floor space and the only cables to be seen will be for essential things such as lighting and older, mains-powered computer devices. The future ubiquity of wireless is made more probable by Intel's production of the Centrino chipset for laptops and tablets.

Advances in engineered wood have presented designers with a more consistent material of fewer flaws and less variability combating the natural limitations of size and shape of the tree it came from. The simplest form of engineering wood takes timber as its raw material and glulam remains a popular choice for variety of structures.
