Audio software in Germany

German sales of audio software continue growing, led by the popularity of the CD sector. The German music recording industry is led by five main international players, with a combined 85-90% of the market. They are Time Warner, Sony Music, EMI/Electrola, Polygram and Bertlesmann Music Group. In the distribution sector, the popularity of the traditional specialist shops is being replaced by department stores, multiples and superstores.

Sports footwear and equipment in Germany
Article Abstract:
German output of leisure and sports equipment declined in 1994. The value fell to 3.3 billion Deutsche marks from about 3.5 billion Deutsche marks in 1993. Output of sports shoes fell by roughly 10% in vlaue in 1994, following a 5% rise to 164 million Deutsche marks in 1993. Output of camping and trekking accessories had a value of 1.05 billion Deutsche marks in 1994.

Microwave ovens in Germany
Article Abstract:
Germany has very little domestic production of microwave ovens, so imports around 2 million units a year. Sales are estimated at 1.76 million units in 1995, at a value of 720 million German marks. The market is not expected to expand dramatically over the next few years, even though penetration levels are much lower than in other countries.
