Average-discounted equilibria in stochastic games
Article Abstract:
Stochastic games involving finite state and action spaces can be considered Markov decision processes with more controllers called players. A study of average discounted stochastic games has indicated that the players use various evaluations for their payoff schemes in contrast with players in classical discounted or limiting average games. These average discounted games and their solutions are more complex than classical discounted games but they exhibit a far simpler structure than limiting average games.

Optimisation of the structure of the clinical laboratory
Article Abstract:
A deterministic mathematical programming model was utilized to address the span of control problems facing several clinical laboratories. The model calls for clustering of workstations, such as departments and job shops, in clinical laboratories to minimize loss of time associated with staff assignment periods. Its proposal for clustering of workstations entails grouping of technicians according to the level of their skills.
