BAA set to oust Port Authority
Article Abstract:
The City of New York and the New York City Economis Development Corp are entering negotiations with BAA USA Inc concerning the long-term management, operation and development of John F Kennedy and La Guardia Airports. If an agreement can be reached, BAA will initially provide oversight and consulting services for the airports before assuming full management and operation when the city's lease with the Port of Authority of New York expires in 2015. The city government's early move to look for a replacement for the Port Authority (PA) shows its dissatisfaction of the way PA is handling the two airports.
