BBDO's Creet heads to San Francisco

BBDO Canada's joint chief creative officer, Stephen Creet, is departing from his position in the company in a development that marks the end of his long-lasting and celebrated creative partnership with BBDO's creative head, Michael McLaughlin. Creet is set to move to Young and Rubicam San Francisco, where he will be the agency's new chief creative officer and executive vice-president. Creet, who will finish by the end of May 1998 his remaining responsibilities at BBDO Canada, asserted that his departure from the agency was prompted by his desire for new challenges.

Cossette shuffles execs, structure
Article Abstract:
Cossette Communication Marketing has appointed Ian Saville and Daniel Rabinowicz as co-presidents of its Toronto and Montreal offices, respectively. The decentralized structure is designed to create a more consistent corporate culture in the two offices and to serve national marketers better. Cossette also created appointed new VPs for its big national clients. These are Meville Menard for McDonald's Restaurants; Lisa Chicules for Nike and General Mills; Suzanne Sauvage for Bell Canada; Dominic Laporcaro for GM Canada; and Rabinowicz for Coca-Cola.

Dairy keeps Watt, Burt together
Article Abstract:
Graham Watt and Jim Burt have closed their advertising agency Watt Burt Advertising of Montreal, Ontario, to pursue their own separate careers. Watt has been appointed creative director of SGCI Communications while Burt has started his own ad agency, AdNormal Inc. However, both would continue their 22-year relationship with the Dairy Farmers of Ontario, for which they would start a new advertising campaign by fall 2000. Both were also the recipients of the 1991 Fritz Speiss Award for their contribution to TV advertising in Canada.
