So Good leads soy drink explosion

Burnaby, British Columbia-based Soyaworld Inc's So Good soy beverage is leading the category with a national market share of 25.3%. It is followed closely by Sunrise with a 23.2% share of the market while Beatrice Foods' Sensational Soy brand is a poor third with 9.5% market share. Combined with other Soyaworld products Sunrise, Mandarin and Soyganic, they captured a total 54.2% of the soy beverages market for the 52 weeks ending Jan 30, 1999.

Mike's pours on the TV ads

Vancouver, British Columbia-based Mark Anthony Group is launching a summer marketing initiative worth $6 million that highlights the first TV ads for Mike's Hard Lemonade vodka coolers brand. The three spots, which were created by BrainStorm Group, will run until Sep 1999. The advertising campaign is a major investment for the brand whose Hard Lemonade, Cranberry Lemonade and Lemon Ice Tea account for over 50% of cooler sales in Canada.
