BP net rises 22%, but U.S. storms weigh on results
Article Abstract:
BP PLC of the United Kingdom posted a 22 percent rise in fourth quarter profit to $3.69 billion. Revenue rose 22 percent to $65.91 billion. The increase is due largely to high petroleum prices, however, the refining and marketing sectors performed poorly, losing $160 million in the fourth quarter in part due to Gulf of Mexico hurricane damage.
