BZW report takes particularly dim view of colony's future
Article Abstract:
A recent report issued by Barclays de Zoete Wedd Securities Ltd. (BZT) predicts economic problems for Hong Kong in the near-term. The BZT report stated that the Hong Kong economy will slow down in 1995, with growth of only 2.4% as compared to the 5.5% seen in 1994. BZT analysts also stated that rising interest rates and other factors will force a change in private-consumption patterns. The report is especially ominous in view of BZT's conservative nature.
