Ban the bug bomb
Article Abstract:
The reputation of the 1972 Biological and Toxins Weapons Convention (BTWC) will be called into question if its ban on the development and production of biological weapons cannot be enforced. Controls on other weapons are gradually being enforced, and this may mean that biological weapons, unless controlled, will become the main weapons for banned regimes or terrorists. It is now time to increase the costs associated with breaking the ban on the development and production of biological weapons.

Bush's hang-ups
Article Abstract:
US Pres George Bush's apparent hostility to arms-control treaties could prove dangerous. Bush wants to end the Anti-Ballistic Missile treaty with Russia without first agreeing a new deal. The US has also blocked moves to strengthen the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention.
