Amnuay says baht to remain stable for now
Article Abstract:
Thai Finance Minister Amnuay Viravan has denied plans to change the value of Thailand's currency until economic stability is achieved. Foreign investments remain strong due to the baht's stability and the country's offer of high interest rates. However, the flood of short-term cash could destabilize the Thai economy. Viravan assures that a more flexible currency system recommended by the International Monetary Fund will be implemented.
