Banking on success: a Commerzbank unit finds it pays to do business online
Article Abstract:
Comdirect, an online bank and discount broker and a unit of Commerzbank AG, has found much success doing business on the Internet. The unit had originally provided full-service direct banking, but Bernt Weber, who founded and led Comdirect, felt that the unit should take advantage of Internet technology. Comdirect also plans to expand into France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Spain.
