DaimlerChrysler German bosses want partial pay taxed in U.S
Article Abstract:
The leading German managers of DaimlerChrysler AG are hoping to have a portion of their income taxed in the US. DaimlerChrysler said the reason for this was that tax rates in the US were lower than in Germany. A spokesman for the car maker denied that DaimlerChrysler was following a strategy of "legal tax evasion" in Germany. Tax experts in Germany agreed with the company's claim that the plan was a normal process in which tax liability is split between the two involved countries.
