Beggared at the opera
Article Abstract:
It is expensive to stage a high-quality opera production, and this has caused ticket prices to be very high internationally. Better subsidies are needed in the UK, but Britons tend not to be comfortable with opera as entertainment for the average citizen. That should change.

The household detergent industry, which helped pioneer environmental marketing, now has discovered that consumers will buy concentrated soaps in compact packages if they are marketed as environment-friendly space-savers. Refillable containers are also popular.
