Bench has nearly a 15% share on the Czech petrol station market

Bench (Blansko, Czech Republic), supplier of fuel pumps, plans to extend its production by 30% by 2000 compared to 1997. The company extends its production by 10-15% every year. The firm sold goods worth a total of 158 mil Kc in 1997. Bench supplies fuel pumps to 10-12 petrol stations per month. About 250 petrol stations in the Czech Republic are equipped with technology from Bench, which represents a 15% market share. The firm's clients are Petra (Czech Republic), Benzina (Czech Republic), Robinoil, Pohona, S7, TP Mogul, Benol, Liana. A joint venture named S-Bench (Russia) started the assemblies of the firm's pumps in March 1998. The joint venture plans to produce about 50 fuel pumps per month. Bench also plans to assemble pumps in Kazakstan and the Ukraine.

The EU helps the Czech transport sector
Article Abstract:
Czech Republic: The European Union (EU) will provide the construction of a new custom-house and an approach road to the Mosty border crossing between the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Mosty is an important border crossing on the line of the Pan-European corridor from Warsaw, Poland, to Vienna, Austria. The Czech Republic has received 330 mil Kc for the realisation of the project. A total of 18.5 bil Kc from the Phare programme of the European Union have been reserved for the Czech Republic including 4.2 bil Kc for the transport sector since 1990.
