Benn hails the architectural imagination in Lubetkin talk
Article Abstract:
It is vital to create a world based on democracy, morality and internationalism, according to UK politician Tony Benn, delivering the fifth annual Lubetkin lecture, sponsored by the British Cement Association. He spoke of Lubetkin as being one of the greatest architects of the 20th century, and particularly highlighted Lubetkin's commitment to socialism. Benn believes that socialist architecture must be planned, even though planning has now become extremely controversial.

Curtis' Lubetkin talk pays tribute to Modern Movement
Article Abstract:

He believes that architecture in the UK tends to be introspective, needing inspiration from elsewhere before it is really successful. In contrast, architects such as Juha Leiviska, from Finland, have been real pioneers.
