Bosch, three auto-parts makers in Japan join in marketing deal
Article Abstract:
Robert Bosch GmbH, an auto parts maker based in Germany, plans to join three Japan-based firms to jointly develop and market a new braking and ABS systems technology for cars. The new venture called the Bosch Braking System Japan will join Bosch, Nabco Ltd., Nippon ABS Ltd. and Jidosha Kiki Co. Reports, however, say the deal calls for Bosch to own 34% in the venture although no formal announcements have been made whether the deal is a joint venture. The three japanese companies are likely preparing to position themselves against other Japanese car components makers and other foreign rivals, while Bosch gains access to the Japanese car market according to industry analyst Kaoru Kurata.
