Britain's NTL in talks to buy Virgin Mobile

NTL Inc. of the United Kingdom is making overtures for an acquisition of Virgin Mobile Telecoms Ltd. also of the United Kingdom. The telecommunications acquisition is worth 810 million Pounds ($1.4 billion) and the takeover company would keep the Virgin brand. The acquisition if successful will be the first such multiple services company, including mobile phones, Internet broadband, television and fixed-line phones.
