POWERGEN EYES 50% IN NORTH MADRAS
Article Abstract:
PowerGen of UK plans to acquire about 50 percent stake in the Rs2,300 crore North Madras Power Project (NMPP). PowerGen India (PI) is seeking approval of is parent company to finalise the deal. The project is being set up by the Malaysian infrastructure group, Pembinan Rezdai (PR), in Tamil Nadu. In the third stage of the 525 mw NMPP, PowerGen plans to invest around Rs300 crore. PR now holds the entire stake in the project. (gs)

CDC TAKES 25% EQUITY IN KONDAPALLI POWER PROJECT
Article Abstract:
Commonwealth Development Corporation has picked up 25 percent stake in Kondapalli Power Project, near Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. Lanco Group holds 34 percent in the project, Eastern Generation 30 percent and Hanjung of South Korea 11 percent. The capacity of the combined cycle power plant is 335 mw.
