Article Abstract:
Campbell Soup Company Ltd.'s marketing strategy is discussed. The company, which started in 1899, launched a contest to promote its new barbecue-inspired soups, and the top prize was a tailgate party with CFL players in Toronto. One of the company's advertisements focused on a family eating Chunky Soup while a voiceover states that the product is the official soup of the CFL's Montreal Alouettes. The need to reflect the identity of Canadians in advertisements is also tackled.
