It is predicted the market for camping and caravanning holidays in the UK will be worth 2,292 million pounds sterling, at 1999 prices, in 2003. The market in 1999 was some worth 2,010 pounds sterling. There has been an increase of short break holidays in the UK whereas longer breaks are often taken abroad. The number of camping and caravanning holidays taken in the UK has risen by 9% between 1994-1998 and those taken overseas have increased by 12% in the same time period. France is the favoured foreign destination for camping and caravanning holidays.
