Easy way out
Article Abstract:
Start-up firms have had a number of sources of funding such as business angels and venture capitalists. There are risks involved in new companies, so the founders may find they have to surrender a large stake. Smaller firms may not find it easy to go public. Large firms are more commonly buying start-ups and paying in stocks instead of cash. Companies may be set up with the aim of being acquired. Exit strategy changes can have an impact on innovation processes which may be more geared to niche markets and less to redefining markets and ousting market leaders.
