While Hong Kong produces 20 million tonnes of trash a year, little of which is recycled. The city has no meaningful means of collecting recyclables. W.O. Leung set up Waste & Environmental Technologies to produce wood-plastic building products from discarded plastics. He is but one of a number of people exploring ways to profit from Hong Kong's trash.

Article Abstract:
The clothing industry in Hong Kong is going to suffer more with the removal of trade quotas for the Chinese garment exports, as the competition from China's own garments makers would increase. To survive, the clothing companies in Hong Kong have shifted the focus to brand development and designing instead of manufacturing.
