Cathay Pacific suffers setback in China as deal to manage airport is canceled

Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Airways' plan of running an airport in the Chinese city of Xiamen has been cancelled following disagreements with China's Civil Aviation Authority on investment duration and airport security issues. The Chinese authorities regarded Cathay Pacific's proposed duration of 30 years as too long and disapproved the airlines' plan of installing its own security in the facility.
