Cathay and AMR set ties

Cathay Pacific Airways and AMR Corp.'s American Airlines have made a deal to purchase space on a large number of each other's flights. This solidifies Cathay's ties for the first time to one of the main members of the oneworld airline alliance. Although deals with British Airways and Qantas Airways will take longer to work out, Japan Airlines plans to join oneworld.
