Construction for higher production
Article Abstract:
Pal (Prague, Czech Republic), car accessory manufacturer, plans to extend its production by nearly 200% by 2002 compared to 1999. The extension will need high investments, which will be 345 mil Kc in 1999 and 240 mil Kc in 2000. The firm's largest investment project is the construction of a central production hall in 1999. The costs on the hall's construction will be 100 mil Kc. About 56 mil Kc of the sum will be intended for the project's construction part and 44 mil Kc for technology. A part of the investments will be covered from the 1998 profit. The firm's pre-tax profit amounted to 36 mil Kc in 1998. The company sold goods worth 750 mil Kc in 1998. Exports represented 25% of the 1998 proceeds. The share should increase to 50% in 1999. Pal is increasing its exports due to contracts with the car concern Volkswagen (Germany). The concern plans to take products worth about 250 mil Kc from Pal in 1999. Pal's expansion is also influenced by co-operation with its strategical partner, the international concern Magna.
