Denmark: Consumers not loyal as regards medicines
Article Abstract:
A new survey conducted by analysis company MedicoMonitor shows that Danish consumers of medicines are not loyal to their medicines but 77% of them would switch to an another product provided that the price is lower. Claus Moldrup of MedicoMonitor says this survey shows that pharmaceutical companies are extremely vulnerable to parallel imports and to generic medicines. According to Moldrup, the primary client for the pharmaceutical company is now the end user i.e. the consumer, which is why it is important for the companies to build up consumer loyalty. 82% of the 1,000 involved in the survey were able to remember the name of their medicine whereas only 15% remember the name of the producer.
