Charging ahead
Article Abstract:
Powervamp Ltd. has introduced a new integrated line of weather-proof ground power units (GPUs) for helicopters. The new GPUs are complete modifications of the company's original units, and are derivatives of the company's range of powerful, versatile mains-powered chargers. Powervamp's Richard Roller said that the GPUs are able to start a broad selection of aircraft, from the smallest single-engine helicopter or light aircraft to larger turboprop and turbofan engines on corporate jets. The line, which includes a 110- to 230-VAC petrol-powered generator system, is also usable as ground power supports for avionics checks, ancillary equipment and for high current systems during crew training.
