Chickens save scientists: Biopharm raises chicken-vaccine exports
Article Abstract:
Biopharm (Czech Republic), biopharmaceutical and veterinary medicine research institute, is increasing its exports. Its anti- coccidiosis vaccine for chickens is more and more in demand among poultry breeders in 14 foreign countries as well as in the Czech Republic. Biopharm generated a gross profit of 11.88 mil Kc and a net profit of 8.178 mil Kc in 1997. About 50% of Biopharm's total revenues are generated by research and development to order. The firm is also involved in production, utilising results of its own research. Biopharm was established in 1993.

Czech glass exports

Czech Republic: A total of 606,867 t of glass worth 19.748 bil Kc FCO was exported in 1997. The Czech Republic exported 183,962 t of household glassware worth 7.415 bil Kc FCO in 1997. A total of 511,356 t of glass worth 17.993 bil Kc FCO was exported in 1996. The Czech Republic exported 157,895 t of household glassware worth 6.666 bil Kc FCO in 1996.
