China-U.S. trade gap widens to monthly record

International economic relations between the United States and China have seen a record United States trade deficit increase to $20.10 billion. China posted a trade surplus with soaring exports up 27.7 percent to $68.09 billion. An upcoming visit by President George W. Bush to China will see an increase in pressure for the Central Bank of China to increase the value of the Yuan.

EU Trade Chief pledges restraint on textiles issue
Article Abstract:
European Trade Commissioner Peter Mendelson is planning to study the issue of soaring textile imports from China. There is concern for the European Union textile industry because the exports from China are flooding the market. The World Trade Organization is forging a new global trade agreement that will be forthcoming by the end of 2006.
