Opening the financial sector benefits China...
Article Abstract:
China's unwillingness to open up its financial markets to the world is a major stumbling block in its attempt to join the World Trade Organization. Chinese officials should reconsider their stand because their country stands to gain economically from such a move. The fact that China has remained unscathed by the Asian economic crisis because of its closed financial sector makes it seem that a closed door policy is needed. However, this is a wrong view because such a policy cause inefficiencies and large amounts of bad debts to flourish.
