The National Institutes of Health issued a recommendation against high-cholesterol diets in 1984, due to the perceived increased risk for heart disease. Further research bears out the view that cholesterol is associated with heart disease, but a causal relationship is not established.

Dusan Tadic is the first person to stand trial before The Hague Court for Bosnia related war crimes. Tadic is one of 57 alleged war criminals; of which only three are in custody. IFOR is the NATO force in charge of capturing alleged war criminals of the Balkan war.

A developing theory: cholesterol

Cholesterol is often associated with heart disease, but the molecule also has a positive role in genetics. Researcher Philip Beachy found a link between cholesterol and a protein called hedgehog. The hedgehog protein is essential to cell development.
