Citibank provided 3.7 billion pounds sterling worth of funding for 18 European transactions covering 9 countries in 1997 and has been particularly successful in the area of leveraged buyouts in Hungary and Italy. The largest transaction in 1997 was arranging 920 million pounds sterling for the acquisition of Italian car manufacturer Seat. The European finance team provides clients with a wide range of services and skills, from offices located in Milan, Paris and London.

Charterhouse still headless in corporate finance
Article Abstract:
Charterhouse bank has appointed David Parish as overall chairman and chief executive, although there are doubts about its ability to recruit key personnel. The bank has been seeking to appoint a head of corporate finance since the departure of Howard Hyman in 1996, and has lamented the lack of available candidates. Uncertainties about the bank's ownership has also been a barrier to finding the right candidate.
