Article Abstract:
The complexity of transparent elements and the importance of detail and interaction with adjacent materials was discussed at the 2005 Architectural Review annual conference held at the RIBA on 5 March 2005. James Carpenter and Luke Lowings, the only contributors to tackle the nature of transparent materials believe that it should never be considered as void or residual to more massive opaque materials.

Land of confusion
Article Abstract:
Plans of hosting eight exhibitions on one of the largest construction sites in the world, when complete in Beijing were disrupted due to internal squabbling between organizing committee members and the spread of rumors. The event was cancelled and international contributors withdrew leaving the organizers to distribute free tickets to students.
