Article Abstract:
Setuza (Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic), food and chemical goods firm, has bought the holding company Milo (Olomouc, Czech Republic). Setuza is interested mainly in Milo Surovarny and will sell the holding firm including a part of Seliko and Nealko to cover its debts. Setuza is interested in a new refinery at Milo Surovarny and a PET-bottle line. The firm will move a part of its edible oil manufacturing to the refinery. Setuza's new margarine line and its glass-bottle line are prospective. The connected firm should have a 70% share on the domestic bottled edible-oil market. Besides, the firm will have a 25% share on the domestic soap market. It will try to increase its share on the CEFTA market, which is burdened with a 10-20% duty in the field of fat-based products. The volume of the Polish market is 18 mil Kc per month. The market takes mainly block margarines. The largest importer is Slovakia with the volume of 21 mil Kc per month. The volume of the Hungarian market is 10 mil Kc per month. The supplies of Setuza and Milo to the market have been irregular so far. Setuza and Milo are looking for a suitable trade partner on the western market. The partner would be the exclusive representative for the territory.
