Coca-Cola Beverages has strong debut in London
Article Abstract:
Coca-Cola Beverages PLC had a strong start on the London Stock Exchange, closing at 178 pence on Jul. 13, 1998, well above its indicated price of 160 pence. The offering, which was around 13 times oversubscribed, gave Coca-Cola Beverages a market value of about 1.7 billion pounds sterling at the indicated price of 160 pence. Traders said the company's stock showed a healthy base price and sustainable investor interest. Most traders said they expected Coca-Cola Beverages' stock to continue its strong performance eventhough the first day's trading obviously benefited from the lack of stock.
