Compass adds its final ingredient
Article Abstract:
UK contract catering group Compass's acquisition of Eurest Group from Accor was a key purchase for Compass, making it one of the world's two biggest contract catering firms. The purchase, which was completed in Sept. 1995, brings Compass cross-selling opportunities; the prospect of higher margins and strong organic growth from synergies between the two firms; an excellent geographic fit between the businesses; the established Eurest name and the rights to famous food brands; and an experienced management team. The deal was also a good one from Accor, which is now a shareholder in Compass.
