Article Abstract:
The management buy-in of Navy, Army, Air Force Financial Services (NFS) was led by Bob Jones, who along with his colleagues felt the organisation could be made more efficient and effective. The group intends to change the operational structure of NFS by outsourcing many of the services. HSPBC Private Equity led the transaction, arranging equity finance of 21.5 million pounds sterling and a senior debt of 77.5 million pounds sterling. The debt was financed by NatWest Market Asset Securitisation. NFS has provided the UK armed forces with financial services for four decades.

The key to adding value in Scandinavian buyouts
Article Abstract:
Value can be added during all the main stages of buyouts in Scandinavia, including exit, active ownership and acquisition. Final exit strategies include liquidation, merger and initial public offering, or partial exits can be made by the buyout investor. Buyouts are becoming increasingly popular in the Nordic region due to the growing competitive activity of the four main private equity companies EQT, Industrikapital, Nordic Capital and Procuritas. These firms had invested in 45 deals by 1997 and managed over Skr6 billion of capital.
