Consumer catering
Article Abstract:
Fast food and take-away categories are the largest group in the consumer catering market in terms of value with the travel area showing increased growth. Consumers are embracing ethnic and continental foods with a result that traditional fish and chip meals are less popular as healthy eating habits increase. Consumer outlets are calculated to be reduced by 8% over six years to 2000. Spending on catering reached 39 billion pounds sterling in 1995, up around 6% from 1994.
